PRODUCT DETAILS:
When you choose to quit smoking, use Nicorette 2 mg. Gum to get started. Instead of reaching for the cigarettes, reach for a refreshing piece of gum that will curb your cravings and leave your breath fresh.
How does Nicorette work?
Nicorette contains a low dose of nicotine that is released as you chew the gum or as the lozenge dissolves. The level of nicotine uptake is lower than that of cigarettes, and the program is designed to allow your body to gradually adjust to having less nicotine until you don’t need any.
How Long Do You Need to Chew Nicotine Gum for the Full Effect?
You don't chew Nicorette gum 2 mg. as you would traditional gum. Instead, you bite it and hold it against your cheek or under your tongue to release the nicotine into your system. Repeat these steps until you stop feeling a tingling sensation, which takes about 30 minutes.
How much Nicorette to chew in a day?
For the first 6 weeks after starting Nicorette, chew 1 piece of gum every 1 to 2 hours or whenever cravings occur (about 9 pieces a day). In weeks 7 to 9, chew one piece every 2 to 4 hours. Finally, in weeks 10 to 12, chew one piece every 4 to 8 hours. The goal of using Nicorette is to slowly reduce your dependence on nicotine. If you experience strong or frequent cravings you can chew a second piece of nicotine gum within the hour.
