Virgil’s is a gourmet root beer. We’re what Ben and Jerry’s is to ice cream, what Dom Perignon is to champagne. We’re a micro-brewed root beer made with all-natural ingredients. We use herbs imported from around the world and unbleached pure cane sugar.
Virgil’s is a superb blend of spices and herbs gathered from the world over; anise, licorice, vanilla (bourbon), cinnamon, clove, wintergreen, sweet birch, molasses, nutmeg, pimento berry oil, balsam oil and cassia oil.
Some root beers claim to be “cold-brewed”. This is merely another term for the filtering process that yields common soda. Even so-called premium root beers like Stewarts, IBC and Weinhard’s are not hand crafted brews like Virgil’s.
Only Virgil’s Microbrewed Root Beer is truly “brewed”.

What about the ‘handcrafted’ Virgil root beer. Is it a lesser version than the ‘microbrewed’? The ingredients are less impressive and the taste not as good. I bought a 4 pack, as I often do, and when I got it home, I realized that it was handcrafted not microbrewed. Up until that point, I thought all of your root beer was microbrewed …. that’s what makes it uniquely delicious. How do you describe it as a comparison to your micro brewed. I am having difficulty finding microbrewed in my area.
We cannot comment on the difference between the two, as you should direct that question to the manufacturer, but we do carry the micro brewed version for sale.
