Active Ingredient

How Does Motrin IB 200mg work?

This medicine contains 200mg of ibuprofen, an over-the-counter NSAID that provides relief from pain by blocking the path of pain signals. Motrin doesn't just mask pain; it stops it at the source.

Is Motrin Safe to Use?

Motrin IB 200mg is safe and effective to use when taken as directed. It is designed for adults and children 12 years of age and older. Ask a doctor before giving it to a child younger than 12.

The bottle contains 300 coated caplets. Do not take more than six caplets in 24 hours, unless directed by a doctor. If you experience an upset stomach, take Motrin with food or milk.

Ask your doctor before using ibuprofen for pain if you have stomach ulcers or have ever had an allergic reaction to pain relievers. People who are allergic to aspirin may experience a severe allergic reaction to this medicine. Stop taking Motrin and seek medical attention right away if you develop hives, facial swelling, wheezing, a rash or blisters.

Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should check with their doctor before taking ibuprofen for pain or fever relief. They should not use ibuprofen during the last three months of pregnancy unless prescribed by a doctor. Doing so could cause problems in the unborn child or during delivery.
